Week 11

Well another wonderful week in the TSAM! This week flew by insanely fast i feel like it was just P-day a few days ago! We had some wonderful ups and downs and funny moments throughout the week which most definately kept me entertained! The week started off rough with a lesson with Brenda, I have just so so so so much love for this woman! We met with her and she said that she felt her baptism wasnt the right thing for her but she wanted to keep reading the book of mormon and is still open to a different answer. Well I left that appointment literally heart broken. We aren't giving up on her I am just so done with the adversary being so annoying and getting in the way of just so much good! We met with most of all the less actives we are working with and a few are still struggling with the addictions they have fallen back into, they have great faith though so we know it will work out for them, they have Heavenly Father helping them! On the better side of the week we had a wonderful lesson with Tony, and he is doing amazing! Soaking up information and just feels so good about everything! We are meeting with him 3 times this week and he is just ready for it all! Wonderful! We also were finally able to meet with Anthony a man we contacted one night knocking. This man is so sincere and nice! He used to be a millionaire he is now a single dad supporting his 3 nieces since their mom passed away and he just wants the truth! We sat down and he started, "I just want to know what is different about you, about your beliefs" well what a wonderful intro to the message of the restoration! He was so happy to hear something that made sense and was so happy to get to share this with his daughter! He is great and we cant wait to keep teaching him! We had a plethra of other wonderful lessons that just kept the week so full of the spirit! I seriously couldnt help but smile all week, Heavenly Father has just blessed us with so much and it's so awesome to feel the spirit guide this work! There were also great funny moments that kept this week exciting. One of the best was in a "first lesson" with a woman we contacted last week, she talked to us how she had been taught before and how her daughter got baptized, she left out one major piece of the puzzle. We taught her about baptism and the benefits of the gospel, we get to the baptismal invite and she responds "i've already been baptized".. well for us as missionaries we get that response a lot because many are baptized in other religions, we start explaining the importance of the proper authority and she finally explains she has been baptized mormon and that she is just now in active! haha it was great and when she realized we didnt know that she cackled at us.. wonderful :) so funny! We now get to continue teaching her but now as a less active! Another funny/awkward moment. We stopped by Cody's place saturday night and we able to catch him since he's been really busy lately and we havent been able to teach him. We told him about stake conference which we had on sunday and just checked in on how he was doing with things. From the beer we caught him with it isnt as great as we had hoped but he explained he was in the "process" of quitting and he told us he would be there on sunday. We show up to stake conference a little doubtful he would make it but HE MADE IT! It's a big deal for him, but the funny part of the story, the second talk he hears is on pornography. Well we haven't gotten to the law of chastity lesson yet but dont worry we had a miny lesson right there in the middle of stake conference surrounded by people. He asked why pornography was bad and we tried to explain and he had all of these other questions. It was hilariousl and awkward and just such an experience. We discussed it afterward and will meet with him this week to further explain but it was a great way to end the week :) So yep it was a great week we have so many amazing people to work with and i am just loving it! The church is true! Be good! Read and pray and attend church! I love you all!
