Happy Halloween everyone! Exciting day as a missionary.. haha not really it is crazy to me that it is already the end of October the month flew by! We luckily got invited to have dinner at a member's home this evening and might have a lesson with Tony there as well tonight but that is it for my halloween festivities. This week was AMAZING! Filled with lots and lots of missionary goodness! I am amazed at just how much joy can come from doing this kind of work! Tony is progressing amazingly and just continuing to be a rockstar! During one of our lessons he told us how one of his greatest goals is to convert everyone to follow and believe in Christ, truly this man was so prepared by the Lord! We had the greatest experience Saturday night, we had a little time so we began knocking and we found Marco, at first he didn't seem very interested and then he told us how he is just so unhappy with his life right now because all he does is work, drink, and smoke. He doesnt have a belief in God and we explained to him how God is real and how he can find out for himself, how there is "something bigger" to his life.. he was very hesitant and scared to start to change his life but we invited him to church and after a few minutes he finally agreed and he came! He enjoyed it and we are meeting with him again this week! Oh goodness this work is just so awesome you cant help but smile! We had some other really amazing lessons with new investigators and the Hernandez family, they are wonderful and like Tony are just so ready for this message! We had a very busy week trying to balance everyone again, especially saturday making sure everything was in place for people getting to church on Sunday. To add to it all I was assigned to speak in Sacrament meeting! I was dying all week stressed because I had no time to write my talk between all of the attention I needed to give to our investigators and if anyone remembers me before my farewell talk I dont do well speaking in Sacrament even without the added pressure of being a missionary and being expected to know what I am talking about! Well Saturday night Heavenly Father blessed us with a great funny experience that lightened the load of all the stress, I realized in that moment there is no need to stress, Heavenly Father is in control and just how important it is and how good it feels to just laugh and smile even when nothing is working out! haha Well Sunday moring arrived and I sat on the stand, got up, gave my talk relieved until I realized I had gone for 20 minutes! Goodness I felt so dumb! The ward was very nice and one of my favorite members called me last night to get a scripture reference I used which made me feel good that at least one person got something out of it! haha Other than that life here is going wonderfully! The stress will continue through this week since i have been assigned to sing a duet with another elder at a conference for all the missionaries from the boarder and san antonion oh and a member of the seventy.. WHAT?? Caitlin I hope you are dying laughing at this moment because yes if anyone can remember JULI can NOT sing.. that will be interesting but ill let you all know how it goes! For your spiritual upliftment look up the talk "Desire" by Dallin H. Oaks from April 2011 conference it is just so great!!! Our prophets and apostels and just such an amazingly wonderful blessing! Their words are so encouraging and helpful! Dont forget to keep reading your scriptures!!! They are just so so so awesome! My favorite.. Mosiah 2:41.. plain. and. simple. Be happy!
