April 30,2012 Things are starting to warm up
Oh what a busy week we had in the marvelous TSAM! Besides the hotter weather and the awesome people that we have been able to contact lately we had some grand adventures. One was on Tuesday involving the lame species of fire ants that inhabit the state of Texas. As we were walking in to visit a less active member I got bitten/stung by three on my leg and foot. I had heard about them and knew that worstishire sauce was supposed to help pull the venom out. So I got some from Sis. Cundiff and about 10 minutes later my neck starts to itch and sooner than later my whole chest and head and face had broken out in hives and was itching and so.. i took some benedryl, called the presidents wife and she told me to go to the urgent care since the reaction was somewhere other than the sting site.. all was well I continued to itch and feel sick but they gave me a steroid shot and I was on my way. The swelling and hives went down and I was just left with these massive bites and swollen parts on my leg and foot, awesome! And best yet I got to teach the plan of salvation to John half gone on benedryl, that's when you know teaching by and relying on the spirit is the most important thing :) Another adventure or miracle was the opportunities we had to serve this week, one with a less active helping him move and organize but because we were down in the area doing that we quickly changed back into our skirts and stopped by one of our investigators houses. She was in the middle of painting her boys room and on a time crunch so we changed again and whipped out the paint job in about 20 minutes and she was so grateful! I am consistently amazed by how the Lord works in consistently sending others to those that need someone just at the very right moment! The spirit is powerful and wonderful and it is an indescribable feeling knowing that by simply following the spirit we can be the person that God helps his other children through! John is continuing to do awesome! He loved church yesterday and the members were so awesome in making him feel welcome and comfortable. He has accepted a baptismal date and it progressing right along and we are so excited for him! The work is good! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods! The church is true! :)
with love
