April 2, 2012

Oh goodness what are wonderfully marvelous week we had! We were blessed with so many miracles! Brian told us how he received his confirmation that he wants to be baptized, just at the beginning of the lesson he told us how much he has been praying and just good he feels about everything! He wants to be happy, and has been reading up a storm! The only thing holding him back now is his work schedule and it keeping him from church! But all will be well and we are really excited for him! Also, during one of our lessons this week with another investigator, David, we had one of the most powerful moments I have experienced yet. We were discussing the relationship we have with our Heavenly Father and David was saying just how distant he felt and out of touch. The wonderful member that was with us asked if we could sing a verse of a song, so though I was a little nervous we all sang the first verse of "I am a child of God" the simple words of that song brought in the most incredibly strong spirit. After a few seconds, my companion goes on to bearing the most beautiful testimony of the divinity and relationship that each of us hold a individual children on God. It was so amazing, David came to understand and we were able to help him feel just how true the gospel is, all from the simple power of a child's song! Beautiful! Then our lesson with Jason, it was just as amazing! This man is so awesome! Last week when he canceled our appointment and told us he was going out of town we were heart broken, the guy we were talking to didn't even sound like the same person we had met with a few days earlier. Well after a few days we tried and weren't able to get ahold of him, so we tried again Saturday and he was back, physically and spiritually, he was so happy to set up a new time to meet with us so we were a little confused. We go to the lesson last night with a couple from the ward and it was one the THE best lessons ever! Bro. Seale is hilarious! Jason and him completely hit it off, as we begin we find out that Jason had stumbled onto the mormon.org profiles of people on youtube and was so impressed he talked about the spirit he felt and just wanted what all of the individuals had, happiness and a foundation, and an eternal family! It was so great! So we started explaining the plan of salvation and he just kept whipping out these inspired questions and everything was just making sense and going so perfect! He eventually told us how much opposition he had been going through the past three weeks he had started meeting with us, how people were coming out of the wood work to discourage him from pursuing this but just how much he wanted it. How he hasn't felt this happy in a long time and after accepting a baptismal date he said "if this is wrong, i want to be wrong for the rest of my life" :) so incredible! The spirit is so powerful in changing people's hearts, in giving them courage, in assuring them, and guiding them to the right way, the happiness God wants us to enjoy! The experience also solidified my testimony of the power of members not only from the influence of the Seale's at last night's lesson but also that his old friend was willing to open his mouth and answer questions and eventually send him to mormon.org to find us! Our Father in Heaven is a God of miracles (mormon ch 9). I am positive of that and I am so incredibly grateful to know that we are not alone to fend for ourselves in this life but that he is watching and though we may struggle he is there and he will lead us to the truth if we are willing to follow him! This work is incredible I am loving it! :)
Stay happy and smiling!
